CAATE Accreditation Status and Program Outcomes

To satisfy the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) requirement, this page offers the annual and three-year aggregate results of the Board of Certification (BOC) Exam Pass Rates for students graduating from Northern Illinois University's Athletic Training program. The program was placed on probation effective February 24, 2017 by the CAATE. Students are still eligible to sit for the BOC Exam.

*The CAATE requires programs to maintain a three-year aggregate first time pass rate for the BOC of 70% or greater. NIU's athletic training program was within 8% of maintaining compliance with this standard and is currently working to address the issue.
