Educational Administration - Endorsements

Principal Endorsement

Requirements for the Principal endorsement include:

  1. Candidate must hold a master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited institution of higher education that encompasses the coursework in educational administration or supervision.
  2. Candidate must complete a state approved, Illinois program, approved for the preparation of administrators.
  3. Must hold a valid and current Illinois Professional Educator License.
  4. Candidate must pass state required content area exam(s).

Chief School Business Official Endorsement

Requirements for the Chief School Business Official endorsement include:

  1. Candidate must hold a master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  2. Candidate must complete a state approved, Illinois program, approved for the preparation of school business officials and have two years administrative experience in school business management.
  3. Candidate must pass state required content area exam as well as the test of basic skills.

Superintendent Endorsement

Requirements for the Superintendent endorsement include:

  1. Superintendent candidates must hold a master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  2. Candidate must complete a state approved, Illinois program, approved for the preparation of superintendents.
  3. Candidate shall have two years of full-time administrative or supervisory experience in schools. The Superintendent Endorsement shall not be issued as the individual's first endorsement.
  4. Candidate must pass state required content area exam(s).
