The Office of Assessment (OA) provides leadership and coordination pertaining to assessment endeavors in the College of Education (COE). Directed by David Walker, Ph.D., the OA affords support in assessment-related areas such as data analysis, rubrics, scoring scales, templates, standards alignment, NIU conceptual framework alignment, alumni survey data results, and employer feedback. These are important components of the program's protocol for assessing student learning and program improvement.

The Blackwell is a member of the Illinois Association of Museums, the American Association for State and Local History and the headquarters of the Country School Association of America. The Blackwell is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting interest in the history of American education and is sponsored by the College's Department of Leadership, Educational Psychology and Foundations.

The REPS office is committed to professional and ethical research in a variety of studies. The REPS staff of seasoned educators and researchers has done studies and analysis for organizations ranging from other educational institutions to government bureaus. Directed by Brent E.
