H1N1 Flu Preparation

With the start of the school year, the university is working to raise the level of awareness about H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu. Last spring NIU formed a special task force, which has been both monitoring the flu situation throughout our region and developing specific plans and recommendations for our NIU community. This task force will be distributing more information campus-wide as the flu season progresses. In the meantime, there are a number of simple precautions you can take to help reduce the spread of this virus, including:

• Frequent washing of hands with soap and water
• Covering coughs and sneezes
• Recognizing when you are not feeling well and seeking appropriate medical advice

As the school year progresses, keep an eye on this space for virus-related updates at the College.
