A greeting to my future students

Hello everyone, I am very excited we will be spending our summer together. I cannot wait to meet you all and learn about you as well. I intend to bring lots of new knowledge into the classroom, in creative and fun ways. I believe we will learn a lot from each other this summer. Please feel free to have some questions ready for me about, American Culture, or English as a language, and I'll be happy to answer them. See you soon! Sincerely, Ms.Moaton

Why I want to be a teacher and what I believe promotes great learning

Students spend a majority of their day, and early life in the classroom environment. In this time span, how are they retaining and applying the knowledge they learn? This is one of the questions that led me down the education path. I believe education is vital and should be beneficial for all students. I want to be an educator that helps students reach goals, and grow into self-sufficient learners that love to learn.

I believe a positive learning environment that is student-centered promotes great learning. When an educator makes sure to incorporate the multiple intelligence needs of the students (Spatial, Linguistic, Mathematical, Kinesthetic etc.) it helps create a great learning environment. Another important way to promote great learning is to meet the needs of the students, such as offering help when needed, giving clear instructions, and monitoring students growth throughout the year.

Why I am interested in teaching in China

I am interested in this experience because it is a wonderful opportunity to become more culturally and globally aware. I know this will be a rewarding experience, which will allow me to, meet, work with, and teach some amazing people. Teaching in China will help me grow as an educator who works to meet the needs of her students. While also improving my communication skills when speaking and listening to others. Teaching in China gives me a chance to authentically learn about another culture while creating opportunities to share mine as well.

What theme I will use to teach English, and why I chose that theme

I would like to use a variety of topics when teaching English. I will specifically focus on Language Arts and Science when teaching English.

Language Arts is the study of grammar, spelling and speaking. Through language Arts, I can introduce themes like Synonyms (words that mean exactly or nearly the same as another word), Antonyms (words that mean the opposite of each other), Homophones (words having the same punctuation but different meanings or spelling), sentence structure, and speaking.

Science is a great subject when teaching English because it is such a broad category. I will focus on themes such as nature, animals, and outer space. I will address the different ways these themes relate to the world around the students, while also teaching them the way these themes relate to other countries like the United States.

In both language Arts and Science I will introduce new terms (vocab), the students will use in both every day conversation, and in an a academic setting.
