Research Interests

Dr. Daniel’s research centers on the educational needs of English language learners and of the teachers who work with these learners and on the state of education in Guatemala.  Her collaboration with bilingual teachers who are part of the Project REAL Partnership in Rockford, IL, has resulted in a series of workshops for bilingual parents at Nelson School and presentations at state and national conferences.  Her work with Guatemalan teachers is an evolving ongoing investigation that seeks to improve the educational system of Guatemala in a manner that considers and begins with the needs and ways of being of its multilingual citizens.
